AO Holdings, a leading digital transformation solutions company in Ghana, has developed an innovative electronic voting technology called Synergy eVote. The Synergy eVote which was used for the recent General Council Election of the Church of Pentecost brought great relief to the electoral commission and the electorate. The process was seamless and stress free.
This historic event took place during the Church’s 46th General Council Meeting on Thursday, May 4, 2023, where Apostle Eric Nyamekye secured an overwhelming majority of the votes, winning 1,255 ‘YES’ votes out of the 1,262 total votes cast, representing 99.45%.
The church also elected Apostle Samuel Gyau Obuobi, as the new General Secretary, succeeding Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, who served in the role for 10 years.
AO Holdings’ electronic voting platform, Synergy eVote, did not only transform how elections are done but also reduced the cost of the election drastically for the church. It also saved vote counting time.
Apostle Nyamekye was excited and praised AO Holdings for doing a good job done. He remarked, “…thanks to the hard-working team of experts who worked around the clock to ensure such a sound process. A special mention is made of AO Holdings, the IT company that has been very instrumental in this exercise. We say Ayekoo for a good job done”.
